Hiya, I’m Mo. I guess you can say I’m a bit of a wanderer because, over the past few decades, I’ve zigzagged my way from South Africa to Western Massachusetts, USA. Along the way, I’ve experienced incredible things and worn many hats. Right now, I’m working on a master’s degree in mental health therapy.
Why did I start a food blog?
You might be wondering why a therapist-in-training would start a food blog. Well, like many people, I’m a sucker for delicious, not-so-healthy food. The downside of that food is it can give you brain fog, mood swings, energy lags, etc. Not ideal when you’re trying to stay focused and motivated! So, I’ve decided to change my eating habits for the sake of my mental health. And because I also care about other people’s mental health, I thought I’d share my journey with those on a similar path.
Changing eating habits
Let’s talk about how hard it is to change eating habits! I’ve tried eating healthy before, but it didn’t go well. I bet I’m not alone in this!!! The last time I tried it (and the six times before that), I cut out delicious food and ate things that tasted like cardboard! Clearly, that was never going to change my habits!
This time, I’m taking a sneakier approach! Instead of giving up my favorite foods, I’m learning to update classic recipes with head-to-toe healthy(er) ingredients. Because, let’s be honest, eating delicious food brings joy, and joy is also good for your mental health.
You are invited!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Whether you’re trying to change your eating habits for health reasons or just looking to add some new recipes to your menu, I hope you’ll join me on this journey. Together, we’ll learn how to cook food that’s not only delicious but also makes you feel fantastic. If that sounds like a recipe you’d like to try, come along, and let’s update delicious!
